SfinxMagnum, I used the magic wand select tool, selected only the parts of the guitar I wanted to apply the image to, then right clicked/Select Inverse, which will essentially select everything BUT those parts, then at the bottom of the toolbar on the left, I clicked 'quick mask', then I make sure that in the layers box on the right that there are no layers highlighted or selected. Open the image you want to paste onto it, Ctl-A, Ctl-C, then go back to your template, Ctl-P, and in the blending mode of the layer(you know, lighten, darken, dodge, screen, etc) (right above the layers, next to opacity) and choose Screen. Then if you wish, you can choose your little arrow tool so as to move around the image on your template, then save as.
So yea, it took me awhile to figure that out, hahaha. But it was worth it, because now I have a resuable template.
I think I'll make a video tutorial on this if anyone's interested.
