Here's an email we received. We thought the info might be useful.

Message: How thick (mils)is the vinyl wrap? Does it affect the guitar's sound? How long will it last? How many times can it be put on and removed? Thanks for your time.

Response: Total thickness is 5.25mil with vinyl and laminate. It has no effect on a solid body guitar and so far we have found no noticeable sound difference on acoustics, however, I will say that we have not tested them on high end acoustics where tone really matters. I would guess that there is actually a slight tonal difference if you were to scope the audio signal coming out of the guitar but I doubt very much if it's something the average person can perceive. The wrap will last indefinitely provided that it is not abused with sharp or abrasive materials. It's the same product used on vehicle wraps so it's made to take significant use. Our wraps are unlike some of the products on the market in that the adhesive is semi-permanent meaning that it's designed to stay put and not be removed until you want to dispose of it. So while it can't be taken off and re-applied, the benefit is that it conforms to every curve of the body and looks as though it's a part of the instrument as opposed to being more of a cling product that just sits on top of the finish. Things for the feedback. We've actually thought about this quite a bit. I am in agreement that we should add some more skulls, crosses, and skeletons as these items make for very good design elements. The problem we are facing is that, we at Axewraps, love and enjoy life (as I am sure you do too) and some can perceive these symbols as a glorification of death. But I think we have a solution to this and the new designs with some of the design elements you mentioned will soon be added to the site.

I just ordered my first to wrap my strat and I am looking forward to receiving it. I hope it will give me that new guitar sense, like I get when I order new graphix for my dirtbikes..

Anyways, I would like to see more heavy metal style designs. ie.. skulls, crosses, skeletons, etc.. That would be cool.

Our goal is to eventually have templates for all brands and models, but we are working on the basis of demand. The Warbeast is a cool axe but there aren't too many of them out there compared to other models so it's unfortunately down on the list. It would be best to take any existing stickers off since the outline of them will be seen through the wrap, but it won't affect the adhesion of the vinyl if you leave them on.

You need to purchase either a PS3 controller (works as soon as you plug it in) or an Xbox360 wireless controller (requires Microsoft drivers but works well). I can vouch for both options, as they work well.

It'll be wireless for both the PS3 and the Xbox360 controllers, but the 'receiver' that you plug into your computer will be USB. Again, you can purchase these guitar controllers on ebay, or games stores such as Gamestop or EB Games. Ebay would be your best bet if you want it shipped to Bulgaria.

Thanks so much for all of the designs you have uploaded. They are excellent! As one of our content managers was out last week, some of the uploads being posted tot he site have been delayed until his return. You should see them fairly quickly. I uploaded some days ago 2 new fractals but i cant see them on the wraps side....how long does it take to see them? and can i control anywhere else which ones ive uploaded? and if they were not accepted how do i find that out?

On another note, I will be posting some quick templates in Photoshop format for the artists to use when creating wraps. They should give you a good idea as to what your designs will look like as you're working on them. We also plan to post the artists screen names so that users can search the wraps by artist. You can do that now by typing your name in the search bar of the AxeWrapper.
